Carrot and red cabbage slaw, curried chickpeas, shaved fresh beet, greens drizzled with sweet ginger sauce
Saucy smoked chipotle shrimp with brown rice, corn, and hearts of palm
Star fruited sangria
Yes please! (Actually, we just had fish tacos tonight too!)
Why have I never had freshly squeezed watermelon juice? For some reason that sounds wonderful.
You’re going to figure how to make all of this amazingness and tell us, right????
Awesome looking eats! :)
Hope you’re haveing a fantastic time and it helps your writing.
That all looks so fantastic! I hope you’re enjoying it :)
You do realize this is kind of mean, right? Tantalizing us with that food??? Oh, it looks so good!
I want to dive right into that guacamole. And then rinse off with the sangria. Yum!
I want to come with you on your adventure – look at all that glorious food (and drinks)! Guacamole….yyummm!
Yummy! It reminds me of home. Make sure that while you’re on the Caribbean side of my home country you have “Rice and Beans”. Literally, that’s what it is called. It’s not the traditional Gallo Pinto. It wouldn’t hurt to pick up a “Patty” or some Pan Bon. Hope you’re having a wonderful trip.
I traveled to the same places (probably around your age) and had life changing experiences I still carry with me. Venture, explore and be safe!
That guacamole looks AMAZING.
I want to go to there.
I love Costa Rica! A friend and I did this tour there a few years ago. http://www.caravan.com/tour/costa-rica You MUST go to the hot spring on day 6. They were simply delightful. We also went to a town that boasts to have the largest ox cart in the country. While we were there we ate at a little restaurant inside a gift shop that had the BEST chicken nuggets. They were moist, juicy and everything you could want in a chicken nugget! Also, if you venture into an ice cream store, make sure you get the one that is fuschia in color and has little black seeds (its more of a sorbet). It is SO tart and refreshing, there is nothing like in the states! Enjoy your trip and time relaxing!
Oh my goodness! I want *everything* in this post! Delicious. Fresh fried tortilla chips and guacamole are definitely the way to my heart.
There needs to be a “feed this to me now” button on your blog. Also, in my head you drank that margarita with the pina colada as the back. Please don’t crush my dreams. ;)
You do have a guest room right? Do you mind if I come with my family? :)
Everything looks scrumptious. Thank you for keeping all your hungry followers abreast of all that is yummy in your life.
How fabulous!
Watermelon juice sounds great. As does the pina colada! I’d say “enjoy” but I know you did!
Please please PLEASE eat some gallo pinto and some mangoes for me while you are down there. I spent a semester in CR when I was in college, and I really miss the gallo pinto and the fresh mangoes. If you are cooking your own food while you are there make sure to pick up some salsa Lizano. It’s a brand name, and it’s like the national condiment. It tastes great on just about everything :)
MMMMMMMMMMMM. Salsa Lizano. :D
What I miss most about Costa Rica is all the amazing juices and smoothes – the best in the world!
Oh my! All of my fave foods in one post: guac, fish, shrimp and watermelon! Looks so delicious – like food heaven!!!
